About Ailanto Group

Mission Statement

To assist our patients in achieving optimum health and well-being through a customized wellness program encompassing every aspect of a patient’s daily routine.

Dr. Roger Spahr

Dr. Spahr’s infatuation with medicine began in grade school. By high school he had decided to devote his life to helping others through the study of medicine and the science of the body. He completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Community Hospitals of Indianapolis and was Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 1986.

Over the following ten years Dr. Spahr grew his practice and developed strong relationships with his patients. He began to notice that a number of patients required more extensive diagnostic evaluations for asthma, chronic fatigue, Irritible bowel, fibromyalgia, and hormonal imbalances.  Despite referrals to excellent, reputalbe specialists or referral centers, the patient’s ailments persisted. However, now the patients found they were on more medications, often with side effects. His desire to help the person and not just treat the disease caused Dr. Spahr to seek better ways to move patients to wellness. .

In 1996 he began to learn of an emerging medical field called Functional Medicine. Functional Medicine is personalized medicine that deals with primary prevention and underlying causes instead of symptoms of chronic disease. Dr. Spahr decided this would be the best way to help his patients achieve optimum health and began shifting his practice in that direction.

Currently, Dr. Spahr operates a successful Functional Medicine practice on the north side of Indianapolis. Through the practice of Functional Medicine he has been able to help his patients bring their bodies hormones back into balance, allowing the bodies systems to function optimally, and the patients to achieve total wellness.
